A recent steel door installation in Leeds proved that, even when we’re closer to home, no two jobs are the same. The customer required an installation of a steel door and the associated steelwork and mechanisms into a curtain partition – a not unheard of but certainly more unusual request that we were happy to assist with.
Industrial curtain walls such as these are used for a wide variety of reasons. They’re useful for separating large industrial units without requiring any major – or permanent – construction works, and are effective for noise, dust and temperature control.
Doors for curtain partitions come in all shapes and sizes – they may use roller shutters or high speed doors, or a more straightforward PVC strip curtain for ease of entrance and exit. But just because the partition is more lightweight, it can still require robust security – which a steel door can provide.
The NGF team made the door to order and installed it into the curtain using high supports to attach the frame to the ceiling. The doorframe itself was modified to attach to the curtain without gaps, creating a seal that will assist with the environmental control.
