Replacing Security Roller Shutters
Roller shutters will last you a long time, and most faults can usually be repaired – but after many years of wear and tear, they will eventually need replacing.
When a full replacement happens, it’s essential that the more involved maintenance works don’t make too much of an impact on day-to-day business practices – having a major point of access or egress to a building out of action for a long period can be very disruptive!
We were asked to carry out a full replacement for one of the security roller shutters at Burberry’s West Yorkshire premises. A relatively smaller shutter, the entryway is used by foot traffic rather than vehicles, although it is regularly used for access with carts and trolleys.
Manufacturing the roller shutter
The replacement door was manufactured at our site in Allerton Bywater, with the installation carried out by our lead engineer Nick. The original door was disconnected and removed, with a new 2760mm x 3000mm roller shutter with a three-phase operator and control panel installed.
The door has a standard galvanised finish, which means it is highly resistant to weather damage and rust, and as such will ensure a much longer life for the new door.
A happy customer
The removal and installation all took place within one day, meaning there was minimal disruption to staff, and no security issues for the site.
All in all, a very straightforward job – but our ability to make the door to order, carry out all the work in one day, and provide a professional service was all highly valuable to our customer, who said:
“A job well done with the roller shutter, I am very pleased.”
